Twist Bioscience Corp (TWST) shares tumbled 6.22% in pre-market trading on Monday after the company reported a wider-than-expected fiscal third-quarter loss, overshadowing a revenue beat and raised full-year guidance.
The synthetic biology company posted a net loss of $0.56 per diluted share, swinging from a profit of $0.33 per share in the same quarter last year. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had anticipated a loss of $0.51 per share. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 rose 23% year-over-year to $118.4 million, topping the consensus estimate of $114.5 million. Looking ahead, Twist Bioscience raised its fiscal 2026 revenue outlook to a range of $456 million to $457 million, up from its prior guidance of $442 million to $447 million, and forecast fourth-quarter revenue of approximately $123 million to $124 million — both above analyst expectations.
Despite the upbeat guidance and revenue performance, the bottom-line miss and the swing to a loss weighed heavily on investor sentiment, driving the pre-market decline.
