Google's Chief Marketing Officer for Greater China, Huang Jiezhong, emphasized the need to move beyond cost-saving applications of artificial intelligence and focus on unlocking new possibilities. He shared these views during a recent speech at an industry event.

Huang Jiezhong pointed out that over the past two to three years, much of the industry conversation around AI has centered on using it to save money, time, and reduce labor. "However, I believe we should think more about how to leverage AI for innovation, to accomplish things that were previously impossible and create greater value," he stated.

He explained that Alphabet's (NASDAQ: GOOGL) strategic focus on AI aims to tangibly improve more people's lives. Through technology, individuals can find new answers, discover new places, express themselves more precisely, enhance photo presentations, and enjoy greater convenience.

In his view, we are currently at the forefront of a new wave of AI development, with a fresh round of technological breakthroughs imminent. AI will reshape all forms of services, offering the opportunity to improve the lives of billions, help businesses grow, and assist society in tackling various challenges. He stressed that while pursuing ambitious goals, it is crucial to develop AI responsibly, with the core principle being to ensure AI truly serves humanity.

Huang Jiezhong noted that for Alphabet, AI is not merely a business venture. The company consistently considers how to use AI to empower every individual.

"In developing AI, we adhere to two core principles: a commitment to innovation and a commitment to responsibility," he said. "AI is a powerful tool, and its misuse can lead to negative consequences. Therefore, balancing innovation with compliance is the fundamental guideline for our AI development."
