On April 20, at the 2026 iQiyi World Conference, iQiyi Senior Vice President Liu Wenfeng announced during a keynote speech that performers including Ma Su, Cheng Taishen, Chen Zheyuan, Zeng Shunxi, as well as talk show host Fang Zhuren and comedian Jiang Long have joined the talent database of iQiyi's professional film and television production platform, Nadou Pro. Over one hundred artists have currently signed letters of agreement to join.
Subsequently, the management teams of artists such as Zhang Ruoyun, Yu Hewei, Wang Churan, and Li Yitong issued statements denying any authorization for AI usage. Chen Zheyuan's team responded by clarifying that while the artist is included in the platform's talent database, no specific film and television authorization agreement has been signed.
As of the time of reporting, iQiyi had not officially responded to the statements from multiple artist teams.
A search on Nadou Pro revealed that the talent database currently includes 117 artists. Zhang Ruoyun, Yu Hewei, Wang Churan, and Li Yitong are not listed among them.
During the conference, iQiyi founder and CEO Gong Yu also addressed the issue of actor AI authorization. He stated that the current list of actor authorizations on iQiyi primarily indicates the artists' willingness to permit AI-generated content creation. Specific terms still require further negotiation, with rules being fully consistent with those applied to live-action filming.
