Netflix shares sank 9.6% in premarket trading ​after the ​company forecast revenue ⁠growth below expectations ​and as ​chairman and co-founder Reed Hastings said ​he ​would not seek re-election.

Alcoa shares dropped 2.7% in premarket trading after the aluminum producer reported first-quarter earnings and revenue that fell short of expectations, despite higher aluminum prices.

Ericsson reported a first-quarter ​core profit that slightly missed market expectations, citing ‌increasing chip costs caused by artificial intelligence demand and a sales slowdown in North America. The shares fell 2.1% in premarket trading.

United Microelectronics shares jumped another 7.9% in premarket trading. The company gained 6.7% on Thursday.

Blaize shares surged 27.8% in premarket trading following a contract of up to $50 million with technology company NeoTensr for AI edge data center infrastructure across Asia Pacific and a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with rugged technology maker Winmate targeting sovereign, mission-critical edge AI deployments.
