BWX Technologies Gets Contracts for 2 Major Nuclear Energy Projects in Canada

BWX Technologies (BWXT) said late Monday it received contracts worth more than CA$1 billion ($695.5 million) for two major nuclear energy projects in Canada.

One of the contracts involves manufacturing 48 steam generators at the company's facility in Cambridge, Ontario, for the Pickering life extension program. BWX said it is performing the work for CanAtom, a joint venture between AtkinsRealis and Aecon.

The other contract involves the manufacturing of the reactor pressure vessel for GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy's BWRX-300 small modular reactor at the Darlington site.

BWX shares were up 2.7% in after-hours activity.
