China Business Community Hits At US Tariffs

MT Newswires Live15:18

Business leaders in China opposed the US' implementation of a 10% additional tariff on Chinese goods, according to a statement by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade released Sunday.

The tariffs "seriously violate" the rules of the World Trade Organization and could cause US companies and consumers to pay for the tariffs, the council said.

The additional duties will also hurt economic and trade cooperation between the US and China and will hurt the stability of the global industrial and supply chains, the report said.
