1800 ET - Canada's largest business lobby, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, says President Trump's 25% tariff on all imported automobiles is "destructive," and likely puts U.S. auto factories and its workers "at risk for generations, if not forever." The chamber estimates that just under a quarter of all North American-produced vehicles rely on the U.S.-Canada supply chain -- in particular, between auto-parts producers and vehicle-assembly plants in southern Ontario and Michigan. "Integrated supply chains like these are there for a reason - because they make sense economically," the chamber says, warning the tariffs could raise the price of a pickup truck by up to $8,000.
