Tariff Rout Wipes out Stoxx Europe 600's Year-To-Date Gains -- Market Talk
Dow Jones04-04
1028 GMT - The Stoxx Europe 600's losses deepen in midday trading after China retaliated against U.S. tariffs, erasing the index's gains in the year to date. The pan-European index is down 3.6%, with losses intensifying after China said it would impose a 34% tariff on all imported goods from the U.S. in retaliation to President Trump's tariff plan. This leaves the Stoxx Europe 600 down 0.7% since the beginning of the year, wiping out the gains the index had logged after it rallied earlier in 2025. (adria.calatayud@wsj.com)
