Shares of banks and other financial institutions rose amid hopes that the tariff unveiling would diminish macroeconomic uncertainty.
Strategists say that the stock market adjusts easily to shifts in global economic rules, but will be engulfed by volatility when economic rules are in a state of flux, as has been the case for several months.
