0617 GMT - President Trump's tariffs will sink the eurozone into a recession, economists at Pantheon Macroeconomics warn. The sweeping package of 20% tariffs imposed by Washington have led to a collapse in investor sentiment, and as Europe prepares its response, confidence is only likely to head further south, Pantheon says. That leaves the 20-member eurozone set for contraction in its economy over the second and third quarters of the year, spelling a technical recession before a rebound later in the year and in 2026, according to Pantheon's projections.
