Bombing Inflicted Severe Damage, Pentagon Says

At a Pentagon briefing Sunday morning, Gen. Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said all three Iranian nuclear sites sustained severe damage, but a full assessment would take time.

The mission was called Operation Midnight Hammer.

No Iranian shots were fired at U.S. bombers on their way to the targets or on the way out. Iranians fighters did not fly, and Iran's surface-to-air missile systems didn't detect U.S. aircraft, Caine said.
