Fake news. Tesla Is Not Allowed to Test or Transport the Public, Paid or Unpaid, in an Autonomous Vehicle, With or Without a Driver - California Regulator source:THOMSON REUTERS
How are they going to do this without a permit by the California DMV? It was just confirmed by the California DMV that Tesla hasn't applied beyond the license to transport people as a normal taxi service. They have to use a driver in the drivers seat then, anything else would be a violation of the law. Given that the California DMV has already sued Tesla and is in court this week over misleading the self drving capabilities and is seeking a 30 day ban to sell Tesla's in California, I cannot imagine that this news is right. Especially as President Trump will surely instruct Sean Duffy, the Secretary of Transportation to do anything in his powers to delay and stop Musk's business. Despite what he said on Social Media.
