Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS) said Wednesday it won a $61.1 million modification to an existing fixed-price US Navy contract to manufacture 70 subsonic aerial targets and corresponding rocket-assisted takeoff attachment kits.
The unmanned units are engineered to simulate surface-launched threats to support advanced weapons evaluation and fleet training operations, the company said.
Manufacturing will occur across several domestic facilities, with the majority of the production volume concentrated in California and Texas, Kratos Defense said.
The defense contractor expects to fulfill the order requirements by August 2028, it said.
Shares of the company were up 2.3% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
