Meta Platforms (META) plans to initiate its layoffs planned for this year on May 20, with more expected to come later, Reuters reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Meta will downsize its global workforce by 10% in the first round and the company is planning more layoffs in H2, according to the report.
Executives may modify their plans as they witness developments in artificial intelligence capabilities, the sources told the media outlet.
Meta Platforms did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
