These include extremist-themed gameplay, recreations of violent incidents and the presence of far-right communities.\nExamples cited include Islamic State-inspired content and simulated mass violence scenarios in games, as well as the use of gaming ecosystems to circulate propaganda or normalize extremist ideologies.\nGaming companies must respond to the notices and comply with Australia's Online Safety Codes and Standards, which mandate safeguards against illegal content, including child exploitation material and pro-terror content.\nFailure to comply could result in penalties of up to $49.5 million per breach.\nAdditional enforcement measures include fines reaching $825,000 per day for non-compliance with transparency reporting obligations.\nAs part of ongoing efforts, eSafety is also assessing prior commitments made by platforms like Roblox, including stricter age verification, default privacy settings for minors, and limits on adult-child interactions.\nBloomberg reported Wednesday that Roblox has agreed to settlements with attorneys general in three U.S. states over child-safety concerns.\nUnder the agreements with West Virginia, Alabama, and Nevada, the company committed to tightening safeguards to limit harmful interactions on its platform.
