Nvidia (NVDA) said Monday that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) is using its AI and accelerated computing technologies across chip design and manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, improve yields and increase efficiency at advanced semiconductor fabrication facilities.
TSM is leveraging NVIDIA's CUDA-X software libraries and AI models to accelerate computational lithography, simulation, process control and fab scheduling, while using the Metropolis platform and TAO Toolkit to enhance AI-powered defect inspection, Nvidia said.
In addition, TSM is exploring Nvidia Omniverse technologies to develop a digital twin environment, known as FabTwin, for simulating factory layouts and manufacturing workflows before physical deployment.
The companies said the initiatives are intended to improve production speed, energy efficiency, yields and overall operational performance as semiconductor manufacturing becomes increasingly complex.
