Genting (KLSE:GENM, SGX:G13) has launched a SG$20 billion smart city project, which features an AI research facility in Johor, Malaysia, near the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, Nikkei reported Thursday.

The development named Johor Tech Smart City, spans across 9.3 square kilometers, and has attracted participation from Huawei Technologies and Chinese humanoid robot developer, Agibot Innovation Technology, the report said.

Near the special economic zone, the site provides the Malaysia- and Singapore-listed company with tax incentives, with the developer planning long-stay residential spaces, the report noted.
