Trump urges Thune to pass Save America Act or end filibuster

Trump's Truth Social latest posts07-27

President Donald Trump on July 27 called on Senate Majority Leader John Thune to prevent the Senate from adjourning until it passes The Save America Act or, preferably, eliminates the filibuster. In a post on X, Trump argued that ending the filibuster would allow Republicans to quickly pass a comprehensive Save America Act, the budget, and address the looming debt ceiling crisis, which he compared to 1929.

"John Thune should not allow the United States Senate to 'leave town' until it passes The Save America Act or, far better still, TERMINATES THE FILIBUSTER," Trump wrote. "The Dumocrats will do it on day one, and can't believe how lucky they got with this Senate leadership."

Trump warned that inaction would lead to "LOSING & DEATH," and urged Republicans to act swiftly before Democrats take control.
