Nurix Therapeutics (NRIX) said Tuesday it enrolled the first participant in a Phase 3 clinical trial testing its experimental drug bexobrutideg as a treatment for relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma.

The global study will compare bexobrutideg with the investigator's choice of pirtobrutinib or idelalisib plus rituximab in approximately 620 patients whose disease progressed after prior treatment with a Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitor and a BCL-2 inhibitor, the company said.

Nurix said the trial's co-primary endpoints are overall response rate and progression-free survival, with overall survival among the key secondary endpoints.

The company said the study is intended to support potential regulatory approval of bexobrutideg if successful.

Shares of the company were up 2.3% in Tuesday premarket activity.
