Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (TYO:7011) subsidiary Mitsubishi Shipbuilding launched the Japan Coast Guard's large survey vessel Takuyo at its Shimonoseki Shipyard Eura Plant in Yamaguchi Prefecture on Thursday, according to a same-day press release.
The vessel, ordered in fiscal 2024, will now undergo outfitting work. Work comprises the installation of its engines, hull, and electrical systems. The vessel is scheduled for delivery to the Japan Coast Guard in fiscal 2027, it said.
Shares of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries fell more than 1% at market close.
