I used to not understand Lei Jun’s approach, but then I read an article about his life. Born in a small county, he grew up in poverty. Later, his father moved to the city for work, and Lei Jun, an excellent student, realized many friends and relatives couldn’t afford branded products. This inspired him to create affordable tech, like Redmi phones. The demand is huge—while brands like Gree dominate cities, many in small towns and rural areas can’t afford such expensive products. Now, I understand his vision—Lei Jun truly wants to make technology accessible.
