Morgan Stanley’s latest report outlines an explosive outlook for autonomous driving by 2026, projecting that 33 U.S. cities will roll out commercial robotaxi services. The firm calls 2026 the “singularity moment” for the autonomous driving industry. Future landscape will be dominated by Waymo and Tesla, forming a dual-oligopoly defined by safety vs. cost.     Tesla’s demand elasticity is becoming a critical liability. Each round of price cuts boosts deliveries temporarily but crushes profits long-term. With average selling prices falling faster than costs, Tesla is essentially buying demand at the expense of margins.
