AI as a Highway

Layer 1 – AI Compute (Road Builders)

•NVDA, AMD, TSM build the foundation of the highway.

Layer 2 – AI Memory (Construction Materials)

•MU, SK.HY, Samsung

They provide the memory needed to power AI.

Layer 3 – AI Networking (Road Network)

•Broadcom, Marvell, Arista, Cisco, Nokia

They connect the entire AI ecosystem.

Layer 4 – Hyperscalers (Highway Operators)

* Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Meta

They build, own and operate the AI infrastructure.

Layer 5 – AI Monetization (Businesses on the Highway)

* Microsoft Copilot, Palantir, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Gemini, AWS

They transform AI infrastructure into products and services that customers pay for.

Layer 6 – Customers (Drivers)

* Enterprises, Governments and Consumers

 They use AI and ultimately fund the ecosystem.

The Key Takeaway

Many investors focus on who is building the AI highway.

The more important question is:

Who gives people a reason to use it?

$Microsoft(MSFT)$   is unique because it plays both roles. It builds the AI highway through Azure while also monetizing AI through products like Copilot.

$Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$  Palantir represents another important layer. It doesn’t manufacture GPUs or operate hyperscale cloud infrastructure. Instead, it helps governments and enterprises turn AI into measurable business value.

If customers continue to adopt AI, monetization grows.

As monetization grows, hyperscalers continue investing in AI infrastructure.

That creates more demand for companies like NVIDIA, Micron, Broadcom and $Arista Networks(ANET)$  Arista.

In other words, AI monetization is what keeps the entire AI highway expanding.

Alphabet Drops 6.9% Post-Earnings: Does $200B Capex Spook the Market?
Alphabet fell 6.89% after guiding 2026 capital expenditure toward approximately $200 billion, stoking fears that AI investment will erode profitability. Despite solid Cloud and Search results — and recent buying by Buffett — the repricing of "heavy capex, slow returns" wiped more than $700 billion from Mag-7 market caps in a single session. Investors are reassessing the valuation anchor for mega-cap tech. As the AI arms race becomes a test of spending endurance, can Alphabet's moat absorb the bill?
