Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had a great night’s rest and is ready for another exciting trading day. As always, today’s watchlist starts with one of Singapore’s strongest blue-chip banks – OCBC Bank. Whether I decide to trade today or simply observe the market, having a clear plan before the opening bell helps me stay disciplined and avoid emotional decisions.

Today, I am looking at OCBC because it continues to be one of my favourite Singapore stocks for both investing and short-term swing trading. With strong earnings, attractive dividends and relatively stable price movements, OCBC provides opportunities for both long-term investors and traders looking for small, consistent profits.

🏦 Why I Continue Watching OCBC

OCBC has built a reputation as one of Singapore’s most resilient banks. Its businesses span commercial banking, wealth management and insurance, giving it multiple streams of income instead of relying on one single source.

For me, this means the company generally experiences less volatility than many technology stocks while still rewarding shareholders with attractive dividends.

Although OCBC may not move 10% or 20% in one day, I actually appreciate its slower and steadier movements because they fit my trading personality.

📊 My Trading Plan Today

Before entering any trade, I always prepare several possible scenarios instead of predicting where the market will go.

If OCBC opens strong with increasing buying volume, I may consider entering after confirming the trend instead of chasing immediately at the open.

If OCBC falls towards an important support level while the overall market remains healthy, I may slowly accumulate instead of buying everything at once.

If OCBC breaks below major support with heavy selling pressure, I will simply stay patient and wait. Cash is also a position.

📈 Technical Levels I Am Watching

Instead of focusing only on headlines, I like to observe several technical indicators:

* Previous day’s high and low

* Short-term moving averages

* Support and resistance zones

* Volume confirmation

* Overall STI direction

* Banking sector strength

When several indicators point in the same direction, my confidence in the trade usually increases.

💰 Small Consistent Profits Matter

One lesson I have learnt is that I do not need every trade to become a huge winner.

If I can consistently make small gains while managing risk properly, these profits can slowly compound over time.

The market rewards consistency more than excitement.

🐶 My Extra Trading Fund

Today, I have set aside about S$2,900 as my extra trading cash.

This is not money meant for my long-term investments. Instead, it is a separate trading fund that I use for short-term opportunities.

If I manage to generate consistent profits, the extra income will be used for the little things that make life enjoyable—such as paying for extra meals, coffee, and even occasional day trips to Kulai and Johor Premium Outlets (JPO) on Options Puppy off days.

Having a specific purpose for trading profits helps keep me disciplined. Rather than chasing unrealistic returns, I aim to let these trades help fund enjoyable experiences without affecting my long-term financial goals.

🛡️ Risk Management Always Comes First

No matter how confident I feel about a trade, I never assume that I will be right.

Some simple rules I try to follow include:

* Never risk more than I am comfortable losing.

* Avoid averaging down blindly.

* Be patient for better entry prices.

* Keep enough cash for future opportunities.

* Do not let emotions control trading decisions.

Protecting capital is just as important as making profits.

🌏 Watching the Bigger Picture

Besides OCBC itself, I also keep an eye on several broader market factors:

* Overnight movements in the U.S. market.

* Interest rate expectations.

* Singapore banking sector performance.

* STI index direction.

* Global economic news.

* Investor sentiment.

Even strong companies can experience temporary pullbacks if the broader market becomes weak.

🚀 My Goal

My objective today is not to predict the market perfectly.

Instead, I want to:

* Wait patiently.

* Follow my trading plan.

* Manage my risk.

* Take opportunities only when they fit my strategy.

* Protect my trading capital.

If there is no good setup today, I am perfectly happy to wait for another day. The stock market will always provide new opportunities.

🐾 Final Thoughts

OCBC remains one of my favourite Singapore banking stocks because it combines stability, dividends and trading opportunities. Whether the market moves higher or lower today, I will stay patient, follow my plan and avoid making emotional decisions.

For my S$2,900 trading fund, every successful trade is simply another step towards funding life’s little rewards—whether that’s enjoying a nice meal, grabbing coffee with friends, or taking a relaxing trip to Kulai or JPO on an Options Puppy off day.

Slow and steady progress is what I am aiming for, one trade at a time.
