While Kioxia ruling out deeper SK Hynix ties and resisting further NAND price hikes introduces a temporary pricing headwind, it does not mean the structural memory supercycle is over. SK Hynix and Samsung’s finished inventories dropping below 10 days—coupled with HBM4 production cannibalizing standard DRAM wafer capacity—highlights unprecedented physical supply constraints across AI datacenters. Kioxia’s strategy to protect long-term market share may cap short-term spot price spikes in NAND, but severe structural tightness in high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and enterprise DRAM continues to underpin SK Hynix's structural earnings power.

Samsung Profit Guidance Doubles: Can SanDisk Take the Baton Tonight?
SK Hynix surged 13.30%, Micron gained 5.86%, and SanDisk rose 7.66% Wednesday as Hynix’s record results and Samsung’s guidance lifted memory-cycle hopes. Hynix posted KRW 104.6T revenue and KRW 83.3T operating profit; Samsung guided to KRW 195T and KRW 107.4T, not final results. SanDisk reports early Friday Beijing time, with consensus revenue of $10.85B and EPS of $47.15—above its guidance range. Bulls see synchronized HBM, NAND, and storage pricing; bears warn high expectations leave little room for misses. What would confirm the cycle has further room to run?

HBM and enterprise DRAM tightness still looks structural to me. HBM4 starts are eating standard DRAM wafer slots, so even flat AI demand keeps baseline supply tighter than people think
