Memory Demand Is Outpacing Supply. So Why Are These Stocks So Cheap?

🧠 Memory demand is growing faster than supply, yet the entire memory complex has been hit hard.

That creates an interesting setup: fundamentals remain tight, while valuations have compressed across the group. Citi expects DRAM and NAND supply to remain below demand through 2028.

So which one offers the most compelling risk/reward?

Here’s the valuation snapshot I’m watching:

$Micron Technology(MU)$ — 6x forward P/E
$SK hynix(SKHY)$ — 4x forward P/E
$SanDisk Corp.(SNDK)$ — 7x forward P/E
Kioxia — 4x forward P/E
Samsung — 4x forward P/E

The market is clearly pricing these businesses as cyclical memory companies.

But the current cycle has a different driver: AI infrastructure is pushing demand for both HBM/DRAM and NAND, while new supply takes time to come online. Recent industry research continues to point to tight pricing and constrained supply.

That leaves me with a simple question:

Are these valuations pricing in the next downturn too early?

Or are investors correctly assuming that today's exceptional memory profits won't last?

$MU gives you direct exposure to DRAM and HBM.

$SKHY offers concentrated exposure to the HBM/AI-memory cycle.

$SNDK is the pure-play NAND angle.

Kioxia gives another NAND-heavy option at a low multiple.

Samsung offers memory exposure alongside a much broader semiconductor and electronics business.

The interesting part isn't finding the cheapest P/E.

It's figuring out which company can sustain the highest earnings when memory supply finally catches up with demand.

That's where the real valuation gap could be.
