📈 Index Performance
Wall Street rallied Wednesday, with the S&P 500 up 1.58% to 7,688.64, the Nasdaq-100 up 1.44% to 25,736.51, and the Dow up 3.03% to 53,356.48.

🔥 Sector Performance
Most sectors closed higher. Consumer staples, consumer discretionary, healthcare, financials, real estate and communication services stood out, each up more than 3%.

Tech was roughly flat, down 0.01%, with sharp internal divergence. Energy fell 4.74%, and industrials dropped 1.09%.

🌍 Key Drivers

A blue wave swept the midterms. Democrats regained control of both chambers, and Trump-aligned candidates lost, removing a layer of political uncertainty.

Big Tech rallied: $Apple(AAPL)$ +5.31%, $Microsoft(MSFT)$ +6.68%, $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ +6.12%, $Alphabet(GOOG)$ +3.18%.

Middle East tensions remained elevated, with sporadic missile strikes and maritime clashes escalating, though the market expects the war to be politically restrained.

Vice President Vance blamed the GOP’s election losses on the Iran war. Oil plunged 8%, breaking below $100 from recent highs and cooling inflation expectations.

Tech internals diverged sharply:
the Mag 7 surged, while semis and AI compute hardware got hit hard. Against the backdrop of changed congressional control, mega-cap tech became a safe haven.

Texas flipped blue, fueling expectations of tighter congressional oversight of AI compute and a possible delay or scale-back of AI data-center buildout in Texas—sending semiconductor and AI hardware names broadly lower.
The election result drove a rotation into rate-sensitive cyclicals such as consumer and financials.
