I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole tariff war thing, but if I had to take away one thing from this wild ride, it's the importance of diversification. I took a closer look at my portfolio and realized it's super heavy on US tech stocks. I have a small position in KWEB (Chinese tech, I think?) and YINN to balance it out, but I knew I needed to spread my bets even more. So, on Liberation Day (whatever that means), I decided to take a chance and buy the dip by opening a position in $Vanguard Total International Stock ETF(VXUS)$ . From what I understand, VXUS is a basket of great global companies, but specifically excludes US, which I think is a smart way to diversify.
Cashed in on some profits from my $Wal-Mart(WMT)$ position. Specifically, sold half of my shares the day after Liberation Day, driven by concerns about the potential impact of Trump's tariffs on the company's bottom line. Given Walmart's significant sourcing from China, I anticipated that the tariffs would hit them hard, so I decided to lock in some gains and reduce my exposure. And you know what? I feel liberated - like I've taken control of my trades and made a smart decision.
$Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ My faith in AI related stocks (I have Nvidia too) is kind of pay off I think...bought these during the first round of crashbut it crashed lower subsequently haha....latest news of semiconductors and computers related stuffs are exempted from tariffs, this is a great great news. I believe we will see a gap up for both AMD and Nvidia on Monday :) .... have faith.
$STI ETF(ES3.SI)$ took a beating in the recent upheaval of the global markets due to the US tariffs. However I am keeping faith that the STI ETF will prevail and in the long term flourish and grow even stronger. The STI represents 30 of Singapore's best blue chips companies in just 1 powerful ETF. A good strategy is to dollar cost average into STI ETF and let the magic of compounding happen over time. Go Long Go Strong Go STI ETF! ππππΈπ¬πΈπ¬πΈπ¬ππππ°π°π° @TigerClub @CaptainTiger @Tiger_SG @TigerStars
$SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ despite these couple of weeks of turbulence, my SPY remains positive... if there's an uptick, I'll sell off and get a little treat for myself... if market continues to fall, I'll wait for the"right" price and accumulate since more. May take next 4yrs to properly recover though.
