🔥 Nothing Can Shake This Market? HSBC Says "Buy the Dip"

Oil up 40% 📈 | Semis down 16% 📉 | Middle East tensions 🔥 Yet global markets are <1% from all-time highs. HSBC's Max Kettner — one of Wall Street's most stubborn bulls since 2023 — just doubled down: "Maximum Overweight" on equities. Here are the 5 reasons he's not blinking 👇 1️⃣ Expectations Reset ✅ Global growth forecasts got slashed hard this year. The bar is so low that beating it just got easier. 2️⃣ Earnings Keep Surprising 🎯 Q2 results are crushing pessimistic estimates — again. Corporate resilience is real. 3️⃣ Valuations Got Cheaper 💰 Some big tech names are trading below where they were when the US-Iran conflict started. Safety margin = loaded. 4️⃣ Bond Yields Have Room to Fall 📉 2-year Treasury at 4.3% — nearly 1% higher than when Middle East tensions began. If yields drop, st
🔥 Nothing Can Shake This Market? HSBC Says "Buy the Dip"
TOPJerry Lam: I subscribe to the judgment that "funds are rotating, not a total escape". Rising oil prices and geopolitical risks will indeed suppress valuations, but as long as corporate profits are still resilient and bond yields have room to fall, the stock market may not immediately turn into a bear market. At present, it is more like rotating from crowded AI hardware and storage transactions to sectors with more reasonable valuations and more stable cash flows. Global markets are close to all-time highs, though, and the margin of safety is not thick. My strategy is to keep core positions, reduce leverage, and focus on earnings cashing out, rather than blindly full positions because of a long view.

SKHY vs. STX: Why Record Earnings Sent One Down and the Other Up SKHY's record quarter was broadly in line with Korea Investment & Securities' latest preview, while STX delivered the cleaner beat-and-raise.  The earnings calls reveal why HDD currently has the better tactical setup: longer demand visibility, lighter capital intensity and lower expectation risk. SKHY: Record Results, but Mostly as Expected SK hynix reported Q2 FY2026 revenue of $54.1 billion and operating profit of $41.3 billion, with operating margin reaching 76.3%. The figures look spectacular year over year, but the quarter itself was not a major positive surprise for investors following the latest Korean sell-side previews. Can Big Tech prove AI spending is an investment, not a habit?

Tonight is the most loaded single session of the 2026 earnings season. At 2pm ET the Fed announces. At 2:30pm Warsh speaks. After the close, Microsoft and Meta report. These are not independent events. They form a chain: the Fed sets the discount rate applied to every future dollar of AI spending, and then Microsoft and Meta immediately show whether those future dollars are materialising fast enough to justify the capex. If the Fed holds and sounds balanced, and both MSFT and META beat, the AI trade gets its first clean confirmation in months. If any one of the three goes wrong, the dominoes fall in sequence. Test One — The Fed at 2pm ET The base case is a hold at 3.50 to 3.75%. CME FedWatch currently assigns 64% probability to no change. But this is the second-most uncertain FOMC meeting
Can Big Tech prove AI spending is an investment, not a habit?
TOPPhoebezzz: Great analysis. The key question for this AI cycle is no longer whether Big Tech will spend on AI, but whether those investments can generate measurable returns. I think Azure growth and Meta’s ad efficiency will be the important indicators to watch.

Amid soaring oil prices and a tech stock sell-off, $HSBC Holdings PLC(HSBC)$ maintains a bullish stance: Five reasons support continued gains in US stocks HSBC's bullish view on US stocks is based on five key assessments: global economic growth expectations have been significantly revised downwards, making better-than-expected data more likely in the future; corporate earnings have exceeded pessimistic expectations for several consecutive quarters, continuously validating fundamental resilience; US stock valuations are already lower than at the initial stages of geopolitical conflicts, providing ample safety margins; US Treasury yields have room to fall after a sharp rise, potentially providing support for the stock market; market funds have not l

The Fed Hit Stocks, Not the AI Boom

Today was a macro-driven selloff, not the end of the AI trade. The Dow fell 2.2%, the S&P 500 lost 1.5%, and the Nasdaq dropped 1.7%. Oil surged back toward $90, the Fed delivered a hawkish hold, and crowded semiconductor positions faced another round of forced selling. But after the close, Microsoft and Meta confirmed something far more important: the AI investment cycle is not slowing down. If anything, it is still accelerating. The Fed Held Rates, but the Message Was Hawkish The Federal Reserve kept rates unchanged at 3.50%–3.75%, but the vote was 9–3, with three policymakers calling for an immediate 25-basis-point hike. That was not a normal pause. The Fed is still worried about inflation, while the market has started pricing in a real possibility of another hike. At the same time,

The key question now is whether companies can continue converting massive CapEx into measurable revenue growth and productivity gains.

Who is actually the most filial in this room? 🏥🤔

Look closely at this scene at the hospital bedside. At first glance, it looks like a family grieving, but the details tell a much darker story. Everyone is asking: Who is the most filial here? Let’s break down what’s really happening: The Second Son: Is he holding the tube for support, or is he quietly cutting off the oxygen? 😱 The Youngest Son: He’s live-streaming, but is he there to show respect, or is he just looking for clicks and clout? 📱💔 The Eldest Daughter: She’s peeling a piece of fruit—but wait, the father is intubated and can’t eat. Is she just peeling it for herself? 🍎🙄 The Second Daughter: Look at her face—is that grief, or is she hiding a smile? 🤐 The Youngest Daughter: She’s fast asleep. Is she just young and naive, or is she the most disconnected of them all? 😴 That

Dow Plunges 1,100 Points! Hawkish Fed Signals + Geopolitical Risks Collide — What Comes Next?

Everyone, overnight global markets went into wild swings. Many of you were likely surprised when you saw the headlines: The Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 1,100 points, triggering massive volatility across stocks, bonds, forex and commodities. Let’s break down what drove this sharp selloff, and feel free to share your views in the comments! ❓First key question: The Fed held interest rates steady, which matched broad market expectations. Why did markets sell off aggressively anyway? The answer lies in the fine print of the policy meeting. Three voting policymakers pushed for another rate hike, revealing deep internal divisions over persistent inflation. Chair Walsh explicitly stated the Fed will not hesitate to rein in inflation. Markets had widely priced in rate cuts starting later t
Dow Plunges 1,100 Points! Hawkish Fed Signals + Geopolitical Risks Collide — What Comes Next?
TOP北极篂: I think this plunge is not just the Fed standing still, but the market is starting to reprice "higher rates for longer". In the past, funds have been betting on interest rate cuts, but now hawkish signals have shaken the valuation logic, especially technology stocks are under the most pressure. Coupled with the heating up of the situation in the Middle East and the rebound of oil prices, inflation risks may come back, and the market naturally reduces risks first. I think this is more like emotion and valuation correction than a sudden collapse of fundamentals. The follow-up still depends on whether inflation, 10-year U.S. bond yields and technology stock earnings can stabilize market confidence.

Some Are Starting to Bottom-Fish, But Aggressive Buying Is Not Advised Before September

The July FOMC confirmed no rate hike — that's good. The U.S. stock market really can't handle any more turbulence right now. It may seem "reasonable" that only South Korea and Japan are plummeting, but in reality, it's not reasonable at all. The 100,000-contract IGV weekly call position $IGV 20260731 88.0 CALL$ was closed before Tuesday's close. Although IGV continued to rise today, for weekly options with less than five days to expiration, the trading discipline is exactly that — open on the day, close on the same day or the next. The noteworthy point is that I initially thought this trade was betting on upside from MSFT and META earnings, and that after closing it would at least roll into a new position. But the block trad

Meta Q2 Earnings Options Strategy: Block Trades Selling Calls Ahead of Earnings

I. Fundamentals: Revenue and EPS Expected to Beat Consensus Q2 results are expected to beat consensus on both revenue and EPS, with additional upside to EPS driven by the cost-cutting effect of a 10% headcount reduction in May and a 49% month-over-month decline in job postings during Q2. AI integration + external compute sales are emerging as new growth drivers. Based on rumors that Meta may reach a compute leasing agreement with Anthropic, the market has priced in an additional $5 billion in AI compute revenue expectations by 2027. The bull case is well-rounded (stable advertising + AI monetization + cost reduction + reasonable valuation). However, like Microsoft and Google, Meta is one of the heaviest capex spenders among tech giants — with both AI infrastructure and Reality Labs burning
