$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ One word to describe my first half year trade? Learning...

As posted previously, I have embarked on my options learning journey not long ago, with the help of 🐯 learning materials and platform.

I started with selling put options, collecting relatively safe premiums. However, one very big problem for me is that my investing amount would be locked out during this duration while waiting for the option expiry dates. The problem arises because of my limited funds that I have allocated for this learning journey.

That is when I started exploring buying calls and puts. What I discovered has been a totally different world compared to sell puts. Since I am now paying instead of "earning" premiums, the "safety" trades have been replaced with "risky" alarms. Cutting ✂️ losses become a norm when I got the direction wrong.

With more patience and observations, I slowly picked my trades and entries/exits. @Shernice軒嬣 2000 's sharing helped as well. I started seeing winners in one, then more winners followed.

Towards the end of HY, I started testing straddle strategy. This is when I realised that 🐯 AU doesn't offer this trade option, right @Tiger_comments ? Am I correct? I have to manually place two identical orders, one for call, the other for put. I also discovered that not all straddles are the same! It is normal for calls and puts premiums to be different, very different indeed. What happens is that the straddle strategy would bias on one side of the trade if it is going to be a short trade. One side would move faster than the other, so it would still be important for us to decide the eventual direction the trade would land (to have a more favourable win rates).

With Donald Trump influencing the world market's performance, the first half is definitely chaotic. The normal buy-and-hold strategy or time-in-market norms however is still applicable if we have the right companies or counters.

With backing from my precious metals stocks and ETFs, first HY provided me with further opportunity to grow and hopefully develop stronger for years to come. So, "learning" is how I would summarise what I did in this period.

Love your honest journey! Options are a whole new world—I'm still sticking to big tech and EV stocks, but might explore straddles next. 🚀📚

Respect for diving deep into options! I'm still wilding out with meme calls, but your straddle testing sounds like a power move. 💥🎯
