Midyear Event: Summarize Your H1 In One Word

Today marks the last trading day of the first half of the year — it's time to reflect on your investment performance over the past six months! What trades did you get right and make a profit on? What mistakes did you make that require reflection? Or were there trades where you made the right decisions but the outcome still wasn’t ideal? It’s important to properly attribute the results of your trades in order to go further on your investment journey!

One word: 🎢 Rollercoaster 🎢🎢🎢🎢 It has been a rollercoa ride with a few months of trade tensions and economic uncertainty that sent the stock markets deep into negative territory in April. Luckily most markets recovered and ended this first half of year 2025 with record highs! Thanks for tag@SPACE ROCKET @TigerStars

One word: Resilience The first half of 2025 has been a rollercoaster for investors, and my journey reflects a story of resilience. In early April, with market sentiment hitting one of its most bearish levels ever—evidenced by surveys like AAII Bull-Bear—I, as a long-term investor, decided to take a contrarian stance. As pessimism peaked, I began buying, focusing on growth stocks and cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. Starting in March, I employed dollar-cost averaging into April, capitalizing on the market panic surrounding "Liberation Day" fears. Despite the initial downturn, signs of a market bottom emerged, with the $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$   showing early recovery signals. For a long-term inves

My one word: Growth. Wish things would have been better but that's life I guess!  Had a massive 147k drawdown in Feb from the bybit hack/deepseek etc black swan. Could have managed it better but it is what it is.  Managed to pick myself back up and and am hopeful that I will close this year ok with what Ive learned from my mistakes and with my refined strategy. Will continue to learn and grow!  Appreciate the community and thanks to @SPACE ROCKET @Barcode for the inspiration to get into options trading.
One word: GRATEFUL. Could have done better if not for some laggards in my portfolio 💔  Missed the boat on some stocks because of several factors like: 1. Fear and uncertainty 2. Waiting things out and not taking decisive action 3. Not being assigned stocks because market price didn't dip enough to hit buy price or option strike price. Think my returns are okay and rather meh; but am still grateful for whatever's achieved. Was hoping to do much better. Hope to reflect, fine tune strategies, improve and do better in the months and years ahead.  @TigerStars @TigerPicks  @TigerCommunity

First half of 2025 has been the time that my convictio in options trading grew stronger to the extent that I've almost completed pivoted to it from shares trading. All things being equal, I've found options to be less subject to self-constructed volility than shares, since my emotions are kept in check by fixed expiration dates 🤭 Not only have I changed my trading preference from shares to options but I have also pivoted in terms of the sector of trade. AI is the buzzword right now and has naturally become my trade focus. Capitalizing on what the masses are crazy about has helped me accumulate gains to offset losses from trading in relatively less hot sectors such as energy and automobiles. I'm carrying the above strategy into H2 of 2025 since I don't foresee any changes to the market land
The thrill of riding the MOMENTUM of learning in the markets! 💥 H1 2025 has been a wild ride, with tech stocks leading the charge. 🚀 I've been devouring every bit of market analysis, earnings reports, and economic data, feeling like I'm on top of my game. 💪 From $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$  's historic rise to the IPO market's resilience, every market event has been a learning opportunity. 📚 I've been studying the trends, analyzing the data, and adjusting my strategies to stay ahead of the curve. The momentum is building, and I'm loving every minute of it! 🔥 Whether it's navigating the complexities of options trading or staying on top of geopolitical events, I'm feeding my curiosity and growing as a trader. Bring on the second half of the y

One word - "BOOM" Gained a whopping 10k+ YTD. Credits to super disclosers (those who invest by 5lots/10lots) that I get to learn from them[Miser]   And my trading friend's advice to start investing in the China/HK market![666]   I used to be clueless but this year H1 was a big turn around for me when instead of putting my eggs in every basket, I limited my trades to mainly what big winning super disclosers are trading (and further studying the trades myself). It felt so much more manageable when I had to check my trades. Like it's just those few that I need to scroll & adjust my options as & wherever is needed[Tongue]  Also thank you to @Jiefund for hoping onto my team before the Tr
H1 2025 has been a roller-coaster for me. I opened the year with a gain of around USD 75000 in unrealised profits. Then came Trump with his tariff bombs and saw the portfolio dip to a loss of USD 60000. Had to just grit & bear it and stick to conviction picks, keep the focus on and not panic & start restructuring the portfolio as and when required. Now I again see a gain of USD 65000. So, basically 2025 taught me a few lessons (1) stick to quality (2) don't panic and make decisions (3) on days when thr noise is maximum shut down the app & sleep (4) book profits regularly & reenter if required to save the gains. This point is something I am still to master. But life is all about learning and, God willing, I will learn doing this too.
$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$   This post presents a prompt for a Midyear Event, which is to summarise one's H1 In One Word related to investment performance reflection. This post really prompts users to reflect on their trades, profits, and mistakes from the first half of the year. Based on the context of investment performance,  Growth: If the first half of the year saw significant positive returns. Volatility: If the market or personal investments experienced frequent and large fluctuations. Learning: If the period was marked by valuable lessons learned from investment mistakes or successes. Steadiness: If performance was consistent and predictable, without major highs or lows. Challenges: If the investment landscape presented difficulties or

AU stock? There are quite a number for me to recommend... I will instead go for the sector first. Two themes I am interested and would highly recommend. Definitely, rates cut is in many people's mind. One potential beneficiary would be gold and silver! It's not just rates cut; the continuous falling USD exchange rate is a key factor here as well. With the passing of the silly "big beautiful" tax cut bill in US, USD will continue to suffer. Precious metals group will benefit. I recommend some small but highly potential miners, $Sun Silver Ltd(SS1.AU)$ , $Mithril Silver and Gold Ltd(MTH.AU)$ , $James Bay Minerals Ltd(JBY.AU)$ . Another sector to benefit fr

$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ One word to describe my first half year trade? Learning... As posted previously, I have embarked on my options learning journey not long ago, with the help of 🐯 learning materials and platform. I started with selling put options, collecting relatively safe premiums. However, one very big problem for me is that my investing amount would be locked out during this duration while waiting for the option expiry dates. The problem arises because of my limited funds that I have allocated for this learning journey. That is when I started exploring buying calls and puts. What I discovered has been a totally different world compared to sell puts. Since I am now paying instead of "earning" premiums, the "safety" trades have been replace
it's certainly been a H1 when any stock bought the day of liberation day (during the plummet) would of now been up almost 20-30%. Hindsight is always ....the best. I didn't take the punt.
Australian business suffers relatively low impact from the trade wars. Investors see AU market as a safe haven especially those blue chips that unrelated to mining. CBA leads the way which should slowly reflect in other banks too. I would buy the financial sector ETF and picked a few selective stock with potential upside like Judo.

Hmm personally have not really stock pick for Australian stocks. But with the current market where gold is king, gold stock like $GOLD ROAD RESOURCES LTD(GOR.AU)$ likely seemed a strong contender for a place in an AUD portfolio
