Even with a tenfold surge, the short squeeze on GME is far from over.\n
\n
\n
\n华尔街见闻2021-01-28 18:18\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
After being fiercely attacked by retail bulls, GME surged tenfold within a month. Melvin Capital, a multi-billion dollar US hedge fund, has liquidated its short positions in GME, while other short institutions are also trembling in an attempt to reduce their short position exposure and avoid repeating the same mistakes.

Even so, there is still a constant stream of institutions trying to short GME in the US market. Ihor Dusaniwsky, currently head of S3 Partners, is responsible for providing real-time daily short position tracking. He stated that the proportion of outstanding shares currently being shorted has reached 139.7%, which is approaching the high level at the beginning of the month.

Even more surprisingly, earlier this week, GME's short-term short-selling fees reached a staggering 30.6%.

According to Dusaniwsky, this fee has soared to 100%, and sometimes even as high as 250%. Even existing short sellers still need to pay 30-50% of the short selling cost, which is staggering. High short selling fees will only exacerbate the risk of short position liquidation.

Moreover, despite soaring short selling fees, GME's short positions are increasing. From multiple perspectives, the real short squeeze has not yet begun.
\n
\n\n\n
source：华尔街见闻
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7d7c9c3f45a3fb186bb48dc3d3495c59","relate_stocks":{"GME":"游戏驿站"},"source_url":"https://wallstreetcn.com/articles/3618764","is_english":false,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2106500612","content_text":"在遭到散户多头的疯狂狙击后，GME在一个月内暴涨十倍，美国百亿对冲基金Melvin Capital已平仓对GME的空头头寸，而其他空头机构也战战兢兢，试图减少空单风险敞口，避免重蹈覆辙。\n即便如此，在美国市场上试图做空GME的机构依然络绎不绝。目前S3 Partners负责人Ihor Dusaniwsky负责提供实时的每日空头头寸跟踪，他表示目前被做空的流通股比例仍然达到了139.7％，已经逼近月初的高位。\n\n更令人惊讶的是，在本周早些时候，GME短期融券费用达到了惊人的30.6％。\n\n根据Dusaniwsky的说法，此费用已飙升至100％，有时甚至高达250％，即便是现有空头，仍然需要支付30-50％的融券成本，空头做空的成本十分惊人。高额的融券费用只会加剧导致空头爆仓。\n而且，尽管融券费用暴涨，但GME的空头头寸却在增加。如果站在多方角度来看，真正的逼空还未开始。","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2788,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
