Global EV sales are estimated to be roughly 6 million units for 2021. Of these, China alone is expected to account for around 2.9 million units.Yet, investors remain skeptical about investing in Chinese stocks. Considering some key developments in China in 2021, such skepticism looks reasonable. However, assuming you've already considered that risk in the context of your portfolio, let's discuss whether it is a good idea to buy Nio (NYSE:NIO) stock right now.Nio operates in a competitive marketAs a leading market for EVs, China obviously attracts top global players. Nio competes with established players, including BYD and Tesla, as well as with newer entrants, including Li Auto and XPeng. Further, Nio also faces competition from legacy automakers, including Volkswagen and General Motors, which are looking to capture a portion of the fast-growing Chinese EV market. In November, BYD sold 90,546 EVs in China, compared to around 10,700 vehicles delivered by Nio. By comparison, Tesla sold 52,859 EVs in China in November. There is a lot to like about NioAfter launching its first car in 2016, Nio has delivered more than 156,000 electric vehicles so far, with 80,940 delivered in 2021 (through November). The company's recent sales growth indicates a robust demand for its vehicles.NIO revenue (quarterly). Data by YCharts.Among Chinese pure-play EV companies, Nio is a top player both in terms of revenue and revenue growth. Notably, BYD derives only a little over half of its revenue from vehicle sales. There are some key factors that differentiate Nio from its competitors.First, Nio's innovative Battery-as-as-Service model allows its users to swap batteries of their EVs with new ones at any of the company's 700 battery swapping stations. Users can swap their discharged batteries quickly if they are short of time to recharge it. Alternatively, they may choose to swap a battery and go for a bigger or smaller pack, depending on their specific need. Nio has done more than 5.3 million battery swaps so far, indicating a robust demand for the same.Second, Nio is launching two new models: the ET7, a luxury sedan, and the ET5, a mid-size sedan. Moreover, the company will launch a third new model in 2022, which hasn't been unveiled yet. Not many of its competitors are planning to launch as many new models in the year. Further, these upcoming models are expected to be among the best in their target segment. Both ET5 and ET7 come with Renminbi (RMB) 680 (around $106) monthly subscription for autonomous driving updates. Further, both have different battery options, from a 75 kilowatt-hour (kWh) (70 kWh in ET7) standard-range battery to a 150 kWh battery, which can go 620 miles on a single recharge. Deliveries of ET7 are expected to commence in March and ET5 in September. The ET5 model is priced at RMB 328,000 (roughly $51,500) while ET7's price starts from RMB 448,000 (around $70,300). These two new models are expected to receive a positive response from customers, boosting Nio's sales in 2022. That could also support the stock's price in the new year.Is Nio stock a buy?Nio stock is trading at a forward price-to-sales ratio of around 4.6. That's comparable to that of its peers Li Auto and XPeng. However, Nio's ratio has improved significantly from around 10 in January 2021.NIO PS Ratio (Forward 1y). Data by YCharts.By comparison, BYD stock is trading at a price-to-sales ratio of around 3. As Nio is still not making profits, price-to-sales ratio is useful for comparing its valuation relative to its peers. A lower ratio is considered better.Again, Nio stock looks much better valued compared to stocks of U.S. EV companies, such as Rivian or Lucid, each of which has delivered only a few hundred vehicles so far.Apart from the domestic China market, Nio is targeting European markets for expansion. It started deliveries in Norway in September and is looking to enter five more countries in 2022. If successful, this expansion will establish Nio as a top EV maker that can meet global quality standards.Despite competition, Nio has been growing its sales so far. Its upcoming models, international growth plans, and innovative offerings positions it well for long-term growth. Growth prospects, combined with a relatively attractive valuation, makes Nio stock appealing right now.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NIO":1,"RMB":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":902,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9007175015,"gmtCreate":1642815795694,"gmtModify":1676533749504,"author":{"id":"4099441812800880","authorId":"4099441812800880","name":"LittleTiiger","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4099441812800880","idStr":"4099441812800880"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Please like & huat big big [Happy] ","listText":"Please like & huat big big [Happy] ","text":"Please like & huat big big [Happy]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9007175015","repostId":"1167151433","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1167151433","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1642782548,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1167151433?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-22 00:29","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. Stock Benchmarks Turn Positive LatE-morning in Volatile Friday Trade","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1167151433","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"U.S. stock benchmarks turn positive late-morning in volatile Friday trade.Dow gains 0.4%; Can shares reclaim the milestone soon and head higher in 2022?

Recently, Apple stock flirted with $3 trillion in market cap, but quickly dipped below $2.9 trillion — as the broad market reacted to monetary tightening that should now happen more rapidly than previously expected.

Can shares of the Cupertino company finally find its way north in 2022 and meet the expectations of so many bulls on Wall Street? Or will bearishness take over during a year of rising interest rates and lingering inflation?

Figure 1: Apple Park in Cupertino, CA.

AAPL: the bull case

As Apple stock climbed viciously between late November and early December, many Wall Street experts piled on in support of “AAPL $3T”. Wedbush’s Dan Ives, for example, has been talking about the market cap milestone since our conversation in Q3 of last year, at least.

But other analysts have also hopped on the bullish bandwagon recently. Morgan Stanley upped its price target to $200 per share in November, while the JPMorgan research team saw Apple stock heading to $3.5 trillion in market cap over the next 12 months.

One of the most vocal optimists came from the buy side. Loup’s Gene Munster thought that his previous price target had quickly become stale, and that $250 per share now seemed more reasonable. In his opinion, the multi-year opportunity in the metaverse will gain investor appreciation in the new year, which should reignite momentum that the stock had lost in the last few weeks of 2021.

AAPL: the bear case

Despite the upbeat expectations described above, mostly supported by company-specific factors, the market rolled into 2022 with its guard up. The boogieman of the moment seems to be the Federal Reserve’s anticipated reaction to near-full employment and sticky inflation, which should lead to higher interest rates in the next several months.

I have recently explained how tighter money supply can spell trouble for stocks that trade for relatively high multiples. While AAPL is no Tesla or Rivian, the stock’s forward P/E of nearly 30 times and only modest earnings growth expectations could be a drag for share price in 2022, as investors look for better deals in value and cyclical stocks.

The Apple Maven’s take

I continue to think that Apple is a great stock to buy and hold for the long term. Under the leadership of a CEO (and former COO) that is driven by operational excellence, the company seems to be in very good hands. Better yet, demand for Apple’s products and services, as well as consumer appreciation for the brand, seem to be at or near an all-time high.

That said, the setup for the first few weeks or months of 2022 looks challenging to me. Can shares reclaim the milestone soon and head higher in 2022?Recently, Apple stock flirted with $3 trillion in market cap, but quickly dipped below $2.9 trillion — as the broad market reacted to monetary tightening that should now happen more rapidly than previously expected. Can shares of the Cupertino company finally find its way north in 2022 and meet the expectations of so many bulls on Wall Street? Or will bearishness take over during a year of rising interest rates and lingering inflation?Figure 1: Apple Park in Cupertino, CA.AAPL: the bull caseAs Apple stock climbed viciously between late November and early December, many Wall Street experts piled on in support of “AAPL $3T”. In his opinion, the multi-year opportunity in the metaverse will gain investor appreciation in the new year, which should reignite momentum that the stock had lost in the last few weeks of 2021.AAPL: the bear caseDespite the upbeat expectations described above, mostly supported by company-specific factors, the market rolled into 2022 with its guard up. The boogieman of the moment seems to be the Federal Reserve’s anticipated reaction to near-full employment and sticky inflation, which should lead to higher interest rates in the next several months.I have recently explained how tighter money supply can spell trouble for stocks that trade for relatively high multiples. While AAPL is no Tesla or Rivian, the stock’s forward P/E of nearly 30 times and only modest earnings growth expectations could be a drag for share price in 2022, as investors look for better deals in value and cyclical stocks. The Apple Maven’s takeI continue to think that Apple is a great stock to buy and hold for the long term. Apple stock climbed relentlessly in 2020, and then again last year. Aided by a spike in pandemic-driven demand for tech devices and lavish liquidity in the system, AAPL recorded one of its best three years of returns ever between 2019 and 2021.As much as the metaverse and autonomous vehicles can and likely will support the company’s financial results over the next many years, I think that AAPL stock is overdue for a breather. While shares will likely climb back above $3 trillion and head much higher from there eventually, I am not so confident that this rally will happen in the immediate future.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1693,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9003666829,"gmtCreate":1640963981058,"gmtModify":1676533559206,"author":{"id":"4099441812800880","authorId":"4099441812800880","name":"LittleTiiger","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4099441812800880","idStr":"4099441812800880"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Please like & huat big big in 2022 [Happy] ","listText":"Please like & huat big big in 2022 [Happy] ","text":"Please like & huat big big in 2022 [Happy]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9003666829","repostId":"2195410116","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2195410116","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1640963744,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2195410116?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-12-31 23:15","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Wall Street analysts' favorite stocks for 2022 include Alaska Air, Caesars and Lithia Motors","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2195410116","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"General Motors, Salesforce and PayPal are among the 20 S&P 500 stocks that analysts both heavily fav","content":"

General Motors, Salesforce and PayPal are among the 20 S&P 500 stocks that analysts both heavily favor and expect to rise to the most

Wall Street analysts on average expect the stock price of Caesars Entertainment to climb 48% over the next 12 months.

As the coronavirus pandemic has stretched out, investors have continued to pour money into stocks, in part because the alternatives have been dismal. Why bother with 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds that yield a paltry 1.52% when the S&P 500 index has a dividend yield of 1.30% to go along with its growth potential?Things may change in 2022 as the Federal Reserve winds down its bond purchases that have kept long-term interest rates low. Then again, U.S. stocks have continued to rise since the Fed announced its policy changes on Dec. 15.With U.S. bond yields already so much higher than they are in the rest of the developed world, foreign investors may continue to buy U.S. bonds and keep yields at historically low levels. And that might make for a continued flow of money into U.S. stocks.Below are lists of stocks among the benchmark S&P 500 , the S&P 400 Mid Cap Index $(MID)$ and the S&P Small Cap 600 Index that are rated \"buy\" or the equivalent by at least three out of four of Wall Street analysts polled by FactSet that are expected to rise the most over the next year.
