The company could produce positive free cash flow (FCF), unique among EV makers. TSLA stock is at near-term lows and is worth a good deal more. Based on more recent numbers, I am revising my target price to $286.24 per share. However, that is still 35% over today's price.FCF Could Push TSLA Stock 37% HigherThis is based on the company continuing to produce positive FCF, just as it did last quarter. It generated FCF equal to 3.4% of its quarterly revenue. In the prior year, its FCF margin was 3.87%. This makes Tesla the only North American company producing EVs that generates positive FCF from EV production.Moreover, we can use this FCF margin figure to produce a target price for TSLA stock.For example, analysts surveyed by Seeking Alpha estimate $117.45 billion in revenue for 2024. So, using the 3.87% FCF margin, Tesla could make $4.55 billion in FCF (i.e., $117.45b x 0.0387). That could lead to a $910 billion market cap using a 0.5% FCF yield metric (i.e., $4.55b/0.005). (I discussed using that FCF metric in my last article.) That is 34.9% higher than today's $674.5 billion market cap.In other words, TSLA stock could be worth 37.5% more than today's price of $208.8, or $286.24 per share.Analysts Still See Significantly Higher PriceOther analysts also see higher prices for TSLA stock going forward. This shows that the stock may have reached a near-term bottom ahead of its earnings release.For example, the average price target of 37 analysts surveyed by Refinitiv (as seen on the Yahoo! Finance TSLA site) is $228.65 per share. That reflects a potential upside of 7.76% from here.In addition, AnaChart.com, a new sell-side stock analyst tracking site, shows that 35 analysts have an average price target of $222.13 per share. That reflects a potential 4.68% upside in TSLA stock.My target is based on the company's FCF performance. The sell-side analysts tend to track the stock's performance, as can be seen in AnaChart's chart tracking of analysts' past recommendations.The bottom line is that TSLA stock seems to be nearing a low point, at least on a near-term basis. Once the company produces its earnings report, analysts are likely to revise their targets. If, as should be expected, Tesla continues to generate positive FCF, TSLA stock could end up reflecting a higher price.One way for shareholders to play this is to short OTM put options for extra income.Shorting OTM Puts for IncomeFor example, the $180 strike price puts expiring on Feb. 9, 2024, which is 3 weeks from now, trade for $1.75 per contract. That reflects an immediate 0.97% yield to the short seller (i.e., $1.75/$180.00).$TSLA 20240209 180.0 PUT$ TSLA Puts expiring Feb 9, 2024 - As of Jan. 22, 2024This is very attractive since the strike price is already 15% below today's price. In other words, the short seller would not be obligated to buy 100 shares unless TSLA falls over 15% in the next 3 weeks.That is an extra way for investors in TSLA stock to make income in the short term. They can do this while already owning TSLA stock without having to worry about having to give up their shares if the stock falls. In fact, if they are concerned that the shares could fall below $180.00 they can use the income generated (i.e. $1.25 sold at $180) to buy puts at the $175 or $170 strike price level. There would still be a positive net credit in doing so.The bottom line is that shareholders have ways to wait out this near-term weakness in TSLA stock. As long as the company keeps generating positive FCF, they could expect to see a higher price.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLL":1,"TSLA":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2620,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":265843775746200,"gmtCreate":1705923699480,"gmtModify":1705923703742,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100316437044830","idStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buy the dip","listText":"Buy the dip","text":"Buy the dip","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/265843775746200","repostId":"2405937302","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3024,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":263708942508248,"gmtCreate":1705417728482,"gmtModify":1705417731190,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100316437044830","idStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Direxion Daily TSLA Bull 1.5X Shares(TSLL)$ ","listText":"$Direxion Daily TSLA Bull 1.5X Shares(TSLL)$ ","text":"$Direxion Daily TSLA Bull 1.5X Shares(TSLL)$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/90ea3e90c31d2ba2c3e591b5cc69728f","width":"894","height":"1508"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/263708942508248","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2266,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":263708403945528,"gmtCreate":1705417705784,"gmtModify":1705417710636,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100316437044830","idStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yeah","listText":"Yeah","text":"Yeah","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/067cead660792d495586f41584f50d3c","width":"894","height":"1508"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/263708403945528","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2760,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":256825289322672,"gmtCreate":1703735524004,"gmtModify":1703735527947,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100316437044830","idStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Win prizes good chance of winning","listText":"Win prizes good chance of winning","text":"Win prizes good chance of winning","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/256825289322672","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2123,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":256825066254392,"gmtCreate":1703735466098,"gmtModify":1703735468985,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100316437044830","idStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","listText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","text":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/256825066254392","repostId":"248312805347464","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":248312805347464,"gmtCreate":1701660745864,"gmtModify":1703059991513,"author":{"id":"3527667667103859","authorId":"3527667667103859","name":"TigerEvents","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/c266ef25181ace18bec1262357bbe1a8","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3527667667103859","idStr":"3527667667103859"},"themes":[],"title":"🐅🌟 TIGER TYCOON CHALLENGE IS ON! Below is a list of quality autonomous driving companies to keep investing in:Aptiv (APTV): The company’s technology portfolio expanding driver safety and infotainment gives it a clear edge.Luminar Technologies (LAZR): Luminar’s new Iris lidar will give autonomous vehicles 300 meters of distance visibility.Aurora Innovation (AUR): A niche end-market and a large capital raise should keep this company in many investors’ portfolios.Source: Andrey_Popov/ShutterStock.com2023 has brought to us an equities market rebound and novel improvements upon language-based artificial intelligence. These two phenomena have, in one way or another, complemented each other. The Nasdaq, which has skyrocketed to a 34% year-to-date (YTD) return, has been lifted by businesses spurring the AI advancement, such as Nvidia. This has led to the rise of autonomous driving stocksThough equity investors and market-watchers alike seem assured artificial intelligence will play an influential role in humanity’s future, some might not be sure which kinds of equities will substantially benefit from the AI revolution. Autonomous driving businesses may be the place to look. In the United States and abroad, there is a demand not only for vehicles with low emissions but also for vehicles that bring safety to the roads through advanced, autonomous safety systems.Consulting firm McKinsey has predicted autonomous vehicles will generate between $400 and $500 billion in revenue by 2035, spelling substantial opportunities for patient investors who are invested now. Below is a list of autonomous vehicle stocks investors should consider adding to their portfolio at every opportunity.Aptiv (APTV)Source: Sergio Photone / Shutterstock.comAptiv (NYSE:APTV) is a global technology company developing components for automotive businesses. It provides software, hardware, and systems solutions for advanced safety, connectivity, electrification, and autonomous driving. The business centers around two core offerings: Signal and Power Solutions and Advanced Safety and User Experience. The former encompasses all components critical to a car’s electrical “architecture”, including wiring assemblies and voltage distribution systems.The latter offering involves technologies critical to ensuring passenger safety and cloud-based software powering a vehicle’s infotainment system. Aptiv has carved out for itself a strong market position in the autonomous driving industry, with a number of large auto manufacturers employing its products, including General Motors (NYSE:GM), The Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Volkswagen (OTCPK:VWAGY), and Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)In 2022, Aptiv reported revenue of $17.5 billion, up 12% year-over-year, and net income of $594 million, representing a net margin of 3.4%. Aptiv also generated $2.0 billion in adjusted EBITDA. Aptiv has made the list because it has not only an expansive portfolio of products and services that cater to the growing demand for autonomous and electric vehicles but also because of its diverse, global customer base.Luminar Technologies (LAZR)Source: shutterstock.com/Allies InteractiveThe second contender on this list is Luminar Technologies (NASDAQ:LAZR), a leading provider of lidar technology. Lidar uses lasers to measure distances and create 3D maps of the environment. This innovative technology is a key component of autonomous driving systems since it enables vehicles to perceive and navigate complex scenarios.Luminar has recently developed and launched a new lidar dubbed “Iris,” which combines both laser transmitter and receiver to provide long-range 1550 nm sensory. This laser will allow autonomous vehicles a visibility range of 300 meters. In February, Mercedes Benz (OTCPK:MBGYY) announced it would add Luminar’s new Iris lidar into a “broad range” of its vehicles.Luminar is still a relatively new company; thus, it has a long way to go in order to reach profitability. Last year, the company reported only $41 million in revenue, up 27% year-over-year, with a net loss of $446 million. However, in Luminar’s Q1’2023 earnings print, the technology company beat Wall Street’s revenue estimates on the back of strong demand and adoption of its technology by established automakers. Ultimately, the development of innovative, proprietary technology and access to a large total addressable market, make Luminar Technologies a compelling investment for the long term. This means it’s one of those autonomous driving stocks to buy.Aurora Innovation (AUR)Source: ShutterstockAurora Innovation (NASDAQ:AUR) is a leading developer of self-driving technology for various vehicle types, including passenger cars, trucks, and delivery vans. Aurora’s vision is to deliver the benefits of self-driving to everyone by creating a safer, more efficient, and more accessible transportation system. Aurora has a strong team of experts in artificial intelligence, robotics, and engineering, as well as partnerships with industry leaders such as Toyota, Uber (NYSE:UBER), Volvo (OTCPK:VLVOF), PACCAR (NASDAQ:PCAR), and FedEx (NYSE:FDX).Similar to Luminar Technologies, Aurora is a rather nascent company and has not begun a commercial launch of its product. The company’s small revenue figures reflect that. In 2022, Aurora reported $68 million in revenue and net loss of $1.7 billion. Revenue was mostly derived from a partnership with Toyota. In Q1’2023, the company recorded zero revenue. Fortunately, this month, Aurora raised $820 million through a private placement of its common stock, which should provide the company with enough runway for its commercial launch in 2024 and into 2025.Aurora has made the list because it has a differentiated approach to the self-driving technology niche, focusing primarily on autonomous trucks. According to Wall Street analysts, Aurora has an average price target of $4.71, implying a 12-month upside potential of 73% from its current price of $2.72. This makes it one of those autonomous driving stocks to buy.On the date of publication, Tyrik Torres did not have (either directly or indirectly) any positions in the securities mentioned in this article. In financial terms, that means during bull markets and bear markets.And while 2023 is off to a much better start than last year, investor sentiment remains bearish. However, just as the seasons come and go, investor sentiment will eventually swing back into bullish mode.The question investors should be asking themselves today is simple: What stocks should I buy now -- before the market takes off? Here are three I have my eye on.Image source: Getty Images.United Parcel ServiceA leader in delivery and logistics, United Parcel Service (UPS )benefits from numerous secular trends, including the growth of e-commerce and the increasing complexity of modern supply chains. Its business soared during the pandemic, and shares doubled in value.But UPS is more than just a package delivery company; it has diversified its revenue stream by offering supply chain management, freight services, and customized logistics. However, with its obvious connection to e-commerce and the health of the world economy, the company is vulnerable to a recession.Nevertheless, UPS boasts a solid operating margin of 13% and is generating $10.67 per share of free cash flow, which should help see it through a downturn. Moreover, with a price-to-earnings multiple of 14.9, the stock is trading well below its 10-year average of 29. Throw in a dividend yield of 3.4%, and I'm sold. UPS is a great long-term buy-and-hold stock.SchlumbergerAnother name investors should consider ahead of the next bull market is Schlumberger (SLB), a leading oil-field services provider. While the company's stock often moves in sympathy with volatile energy prices, it's important to remember that Schlumberger doesn't make money by selling oil and gas but by providing technical support to the companies that do. Therefore, its business is -- to some extent -- more predictable. And those predictions are pointing in a positive direction.Analysts expect the company to grow revenue by 16% this year and by another 11% in 2024 as oil and gas producers invest some of their recent profits back into exploration and production.What's more, Schulmberger's return on equity (a measure of efficiency) has jumped to 21%. That's the highest level in more than a decade, and it demonstrates that management is effectively growing profits while improving the company's balance sheet by paying down debt.That's a recipe for long-term success, and it's why Schlumberger is a stock to own ahead of the next bull market.TeslaTesla (TSLA)is the king of the electric vehicle (EV) market, but it's important to remember that there are other reasons for investors to own shares.Specifically, the company is one of the leaders in the solar and energy storage industry. On April 9, Tesla announced it was building a new factory in Shanghai with the capacity to produce 10,000 Megapack batteries per year. Those batteries -- designed for large-scale, utility-level use -- can be used to store power generated by renewable sources such as wind and solar. During peak hours, the batteries can be tapped, reducing strain on the grid.Granted, most of Tesla's growth over the next few years will come from rising vehicle production rather than its battery business. However, I'm bullish on the company's vehicle prospects, too. Recent price cuts will advance Elon Musk's goal of making Tesla the top worldwide vehicle maker by volume by 2030. Plus, its first Cybertruck deliveries are slated for the second half of 2023 and its Semi production figures are expected to ramp up throughout 2023 and 2024.Financially, Tesla's recent quarterly earnings results were mixed, with revenue rising but gross margin falling. However, I'm not concerned. The world economy remains in a fragile state, but over the long term, the EV specialist remains a reasonable bet to become the world's largest automaker. I'm happy to load up on Tesla shares now -- ahead of the next bull market, when its stock will truly shine.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"SLB":0.9,"TSLA":0.9,"UPS":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":891,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9944459223,"gmtCreate":1682047934863,"gmtModify":1682047938914,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100316437044830","idStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Others are fearful, ok buy","listText":"Others are fearful, ok buy","text":"Others are fearful, ok buy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9944459223","repostId":"1145239297","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1145239297","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1682046776,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1145239297?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-04-21 11:12","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Cathie Wood Bottom Fishes Huge Tesla Stake After Wall Street Dumps Stock Over Elon Musk's Price Cut Remarks","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1145239297","media":"Benzinga","summary":"ZINGER KEY POINTSARK purchased over 256,000 shares of Tesla at an estimated valuation of over $41.7 ","content":"
\n
ZINGER KEY POINTSARK purchased over 256,000 shares of Tesla at an estimated valuation of over $41.7 million.Tesla is the top holding in ARKK with a weight of 9.38%.ARK sold over 739,000 shares of ...
\n\nSource Link\n\n
\n","source":"lsy1606299360108","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The purchase was done via the flagship ARK Innovation ETF and the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF.Tesla is the top holding in ARKK with a weight of 9.38%, according to data available on the firm's website at the time of writing.Shares of Tesla closed 9.75% lower on Wednesday after Musk indicated the EV-maker will continue cutting prices despite taking a hit on margins. Tesla’s operating margin fell 779 basis points to 11.4% during the first quarter compared to the same period a year ago.However, Musk defended the EV-maker’s drastic fall in margins and said pushing for higher volumes and a larger fleet is the right choice versus a lower volume and higher margin.\"We expect our vehicles, over time, will be able to generate significant profit through autonomy. So we do believe we are like laying the groundwork here, and then it’s better to ship a large number of cars at a lower margin, and subsequently, harvest that margin in the future as we perfect autonomy. This is an extremely important point,\" Musk said during the earnings call.The EV-maker reported revenue of $23.33 billion for the first quarter, up 24% year-over-year.Major Sale: ARK sold over 739,000 shares of e-commerce company Shopify Inc on Thursday at an estimated valuation of over $35 million based on Thursday's closing price. Last month, Tesla announced plans for a potential stock split, and the company's share price shot up.If you're thinking about getting a slice of Tesla's stock, don't let the potential stock split be the only number that's driving your decision. There are more important factors to consider if you want a chance to profit from any stock you buy.Image source: Getty Images.Tesla's big announcementTesla's executive team always surprises the media with jaw-dropping news. Last month was no exception. On Monday, March 28, Tesla announced plans to pursue a stock split to provide shareholders with a stock dividend.The stock split ratio and dates have not been released yet. Nothing is set in stone until shareholders vote at the upcoming shareholder meeting. Last year's meeting took place in October, so we are probably a few more months away from a final decision.Tesla's last stock split occurred in August 2020. Investors received four additional shares for every one share held in their portfolio. From the time of the stock split announcement on Aug. 11 to the 5-for-1 stock split on Aug. 31, Tesla's stock price soared 80%. Although those returns were impressive, that doesn't necessarily mean the next potential stock split will yield the same results.Behind the scenes of a stock splitStock splits have been known to create excitement among investors, but they may not be worth all the hype. When a company announces a stock split, all shareholders on the books before the cutoff date will receive more shares of the company's stock. Although this may sound like a win for investors, it's only a cosmetic change. The company is just slicing every share in your portfolio into smaller pieces.Let's say you buy two shares of Tesla stock for $1,000 per share. If the company pursues a 5-for-1 stock split again, you'll have 10 shares valued at $200 each if the stock price remains the same. If you sold half your shares, you'd get $1,000 in your account.Tesla's potential stock split won't guarantee your richesA stock split will make Tesla's four-figure stock price more affordable for the average investor. After the stock split, all investors can buy a whole share of Tesla for a cheaper price.It isn't uncommon for a company's stock price to explode after a stock split. However, you can't guarantee that Tesla's stock will shoot up after the stock split. The best move you can make is to invest in a company based on the health of the underlying business. When you purchase stock in a company, you are essentially buying a piece of the business, so you want to make sure the business can attract profits in the future.Here are a few metrics you want to keep tabs on if you want to unlock wealth in the stock market:Competitive advantage or economic moatProduction capabilitiesInnovationManagement performanceFinancial statement resultsIndustry trendsDon't lose sight of what really matters as an investorAlthough a stock split sounds fancy, it's not as glamorous as you may think. A stock split, in itself, won't lead to millions of dollars in your account overnight. If you were hoping to go from rags to riches overnight, a stock split won't do the trick.That's not to say you shouldn't consider investing in Tesla stock. Pay attention to the key financial metrics, and then go beyond the numbers to determine if the company deserves a spot in your portfolio. If you do your research now, you can position yourself to attract market-beating returns that can get you one step closer to building wealth in the stock market over time.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":702,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3479274730589341","authorId":"3479274730589341","name":"DIMCO","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d19479028ad9f5265647d85d6157c5be","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"3479274730589341","authorIdStr":"3479274730589341"},"content":"I can not trust you any more and don't let me down.","text":"I can not trust you any more and don't let me down.","html":"I can not trust you any more and don't let me down."}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9904060855,"gmtCreate":1659960697380,"gmtModify":1703476388794,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Tesla to the moon ","listText":"Tesla to the moon ","text":"Tesla to the moon","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9904060855","repostId":"1186087230","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1186087230","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1659960023,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1186087230?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-08-08 20:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The Electric Vehicle Sector Is Buzzing After Senate Bill Resets Tax Credit Rules","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1186087230","media":"Seeking Alpha","summary":"The Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act over the weekend which covered the electric vehicle ta","content":"

The Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act over the weekend which covered the electric vehicle tax credit as part of the nearly$400Bover 10 years in funding for climate and energy related programs.

The $7,500 electric vehicle tax credit will be renewed in January of 2023 and last until the end of 2032. A striking new requirement is that qualifying cars must be assembled in North America and that materials and critical minerals in the battery must come from the US or a country with a free trade agreement with the US. That means some electric vehicles sold in the U.S. will be ineligible as soon as the bill takes effect.

The new credits would apply to trucks, vans and SUVs priced under $80,000 and cars up to $55,000 (only families with adjusted gross incomes of up to $300,000 would be eligible). A striking new requirement is that qualifying cars must be assembled in North America and that materials and critical minerals in the battery must come from the US or a country with a free trade agreement with the US. That means some electric vehicles sold in the U.S. will be ineligible as soon as the bill takes effect.The new credits would apply to trucks, vans and SUVs priced under $80,000 and cars up to $55,000 (only families with adjusted gross incomes of up to $300,000 would be eligible). There are also energy rebates for heat pumps, rooftop solar, electric HVAC and water heaters, as the U.S. aims to lower carbon emissions by about 40% by 2030.The bill also created a $4,000 tax credit for used EVs, as well as billions in new funding for EV production as well as $3B for the U.S. Postal Service to buy EVs and battery-charging equipment.Reaction has been quick with a group representing General Motors (GM), Toyota (TM), Volkswagen (OTCPK:VLKAF) and other major automakers putting out a statement indicating that U.S. electric-vehicle adoption targets for 2030 will be in jeopardy due to the domestic production requirements in the bill. When Jerome Powell mentions that interest rates may continue to rise to combat inflation, the Dow and Nasdaq generally drop -- unless they don't because people expected worse or assume that the news was already priced into the market.It's an inexact science where people make reactionary moves that send markets up or down based on some sort of prevailing wisdom. Basically, people take short-term news and conflate it to have long-term meaning.The media -- of which I have been a member for roughly 30 years -- do not generally help calm the short-term hysteria.People don't get paid to go on cable-news channels to express reasoned long-term opinions. They're supposed to fire off hot takes, which make it seem as if the Fed's rate move or the monthly jobs number has a huge impact on the stock market.In reality, broader economic conditions clearly have an impact on individual stocks, but that's not nearly as simple as people would have you believe.For example, a weakening economy might be worse for Apple because people might be wary of buying expensive new phones. Or the same economy could benefit Apple because consumers will hold back on vacations, new cars, and other expensive purchases and spend on more-affordable luxuries like streaming TV, music, and fitness, or maybe even a new phone, which is a lot cheaper than many vacations.Short-Term Stock Market Moves Don't Much MatterA lot of people day-trade and try to guess how the market might perform day-to-day or even hour-to-hour. Long-term investors buy good companies and hold them for years. That's how the average person can build wealth, and it's a strategy that does not depend on you trying to figure out what Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's comment or any Fed move means at a micro level.Instead, every news report is a piece of a bigger puzzle. Yes, the country's long-term financial health tells you things about how various companies will perform, but isolated data points generally mean very little.If we go back to looking at Apple, for example, the company's quarterly earnings reports often show double-digit growth in every category -- and the stock price falls after the report. Sometimes that's because investors expected more or analysts didn't like the outlook management described. But you can't judge companies based on one quarter.When you assess an earnings report, you have to compare it with the company's long-term road map. Did Apple, for example, grow service revenue, something the tech giant has been working on for years? Are long-term sales goals being met even if they're not happening in exactly the way the company thought they might?For example, when Apple introduces the new iPhone, in September, sales may be front-loaded or people may wait a few weeks, until the holiday season, before they buy. In a broader sense, many customers may wait until their current phone gets paid off. It's a 12-month cycle where the destination, not how you get there, matters.So Much Noise, So Little NewsIt's a 24-hour/7-day-a-week news cycle, and media outlets tied to that wheel can't tell you that what's happening in the moment is one data point of many, not a meaningful, actionable item on its own.Higher interest rates, for example, mean higher mortgage rates, which in turn could slow the housing market and bring prices down (or at least slow their growth).That's not a simple equation. Cheaper sale prices with higher mortgage rates might increase affordability for buyers but they also slow wealth creation for sellers.Both are interesting data points when you look at lots of different stocks, but evaluating a company's prospects is much more about how its management executes a plan while adjusting for economic conditions.Peloton and Netflix, for example, have taken very different approaches to the end of the pandemic-driven boom.Netflix always talked about how it was pulling growth forward, warning that at some point there would be quarters with slight drops. The company explained how it would get more efficient with its content spending and focus on new areas like video games to drive growth.You can believe that strategy will work -- I'm bullish on more focused content spending and I think games are lighting money on fire. But how the company executes on its clearly explained strategy means a lot more to its future than an interest rate move or whether Disney has an Avengers movie in theaters at this exact moment.Peloton, for its part, has never really articulated a plan for a return to growth after the pandemic pushed forward its customer acquisition. Yes, the broader economy matters more to Peloton than it does to Netflix, but you should buy, sell, or ignore the company's stock based on whether you believe in its long-term business plan, not because the cost of financing a bike just got marginally more expensive.The media want to keep things simple. That's why the weatherperson tells you it's going to snow, how much may fall, and what the temperature will be, not the underlying science that leads to those things happening.It's easy to conflate single data points to stock market moves because when we get data, the market moves, but those moves don't actually speak to long-term performance.When you consider investing in a company or selling a stock you own, look at as many data points as you can, and don't make blanket assumptions that higher interest rates or a weaker economy are bad (or good) for that company.Remember that charts, numbers, expert opinions, and everything else are tools to help you understand the bigger picture. No one of them is the last word.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":884,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9963737024,"gmtCreate":1668754658168,"gmtModify":1676538108539,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ lfg","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9963737024","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":625,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9926973999,"gmtCreate":1671458448411,"gmtModify":1676538539456,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Lfg","listText":"Lfg","text":"Lfg","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9926973999","repostId":"1116383326","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1173,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9087917613,"gmtCreate":1650939550343,"gmtModify":1676534820087,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Interesting ","listText":"Interesting ","text":"Interesting","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9087917613","repostId":"1136769709","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":655,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":265843775746200,"gmtCreate":1705923699480,"gmtModify":1705923703742,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buy the dip","listText":"Buy the dip","text":"Buy the dip","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/265843775746200","repostId":"2405937302","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3024,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":202090183917648,"gmtCreate":1690345020919,"gmtModify":1690345024639,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$TSLA","listText":"$TSLA","text":"$TSLA","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/202090183917648","repostId":"2354360667","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2354360667","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1690334090,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2354360667?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-07-26 09:14","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Autonomous Driving Stocks You Better Be Buying on Each and Every Dip","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2354360667","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"This year's AI revolution will create winners in various technology sector sub-verticals, including autonomous driving stocks.","content":"
\n
This year’s AI revolution will create winners in various technology sector sub-verticals, including autonomous vehicle businesses. I'm happy to load up on Tesla shares now -- ahead of the next bull market, when its stock will truly shine.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"SLB":0.9,"TSLA":0.9,"UPS":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":891,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9952393346,"gmtCreate":1674436034185,"gmtModify":1676538940168,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Heng ah, Ong ah, Huat ah $tesla","listText":"Heng ah, Ong ah, Huat ah $tesla","text":"Heng ah, Ong ah, Huat ah $tesla","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9952393346","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1276,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9927588325,"gmtCreate":1672537306467,"gmtModify":1676538701998,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ lfg","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9927588325","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1078,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9920054306,"gmtCreate":1670403156405,"gmtModify":1676538360951,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Lfg","listText":"Lfg","text":"Lfg","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9920054306","repostId":"2289248231","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2289248231","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1670402006,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2289248231?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-12-07 16:33","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla Launches EVs in Thailand Amid Competition From Cheaper Brands","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2289248231","media":"Reuters","summary":"Tesla Inc launched two electric vehicle (EV) models in Thailand on Wednesday, marking its first fora","content":"

Tesla Inc launched two electric vehicle (EV) models in Thailand on Wednesday, marking its first foray into the regional autos hub that has long been dominated by Japanese manufacturers.

The launch of two EVs with prices ranging between 1.7 million baht to 2.5 million baht ($48,447 to $71,205) comes as Thailand makes a push for EV adoption and production by offering tax cuts and subsidies.

The U.S. automaker plans to start selling its EVs in Southeast Asia's second-biggest economy via online channels, with deliveries set to start early next year. It produces about 1.5 million to 2 million vehicles annually, of which about half are exported.Fuel-based vehicles, especially made by Japanese brands, still dominate the market and uptake of EVs has gradually gained momentum, with about 7,000 new battery EVs registered in the first ten months of 2022, according to the Thailand Automotive Institute, up from 2,000 last year.Customers who showed up to Tesla's launch in a luxury mall in central Bangkok said they were interested in the new cars being offered.\"I'm excited. The price differences aren't significant (from other EV brands),\" said office worker Thitipun Paisirikul, 36, adding he expected the re-sale value of the car would be high.The government wants at least 30% of vehicles produced in the country to be electric by 2030.State-owned energy firm PTT Group this year announced a $1 billion joint venture with Taiwan's Foxconn to produce EVs in Thailand.($1 = 35.1100 baht)","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":650,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9989048095,"gmtCreate":1665878563318,"gmtModify":1676537673574,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$<v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$<v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$lfg","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9989048095","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":421,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9937501040,"gmtCreate":1663463276181,"gmtModify":1676537273221,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$<v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$<v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$lfg","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9937501040","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":383,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9070352844,"gmtCreate":1657021247288,"gmtModify":1676535932891,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good ","listText":"Good ","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9070352844","repostId":"1174787250","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1174787250","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1657020820,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1174787250?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-07-05 19:33","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla Unveils Solar Range Extender Trailer With SpaceX Starlink Internet Terminal","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1174787250","media":"Electrek","summary":"Tesla has unveiled a new solar range extender trailer with a SpaceX Starlink internet satellite syst","content":"

Tesla has unveiled a new solar range extender trailer with a SpaceX Starlink internet satellite system at an exposition in Germany, but don’t expect to be able to buy it any time soon.

As electric vehicles become more efficient, many are starting to think about the potential of adding solar panels to EVs to extend the range. CEO Elon Musk has said that, by this time next year, Tesla vehicles will be completely autonomous. This sudden prediction comes just a week after the launch of an investigation into Tesla’s full self-driving (FSD) technology. Now, TSLA stock is moving upward again.Last week, Tesla shares slipped below $700, the stock’s lowest point since the summer of 2021. Here’s what investors should know about the new update from Elon Musk.The Latest (Self) Driver for TSLA StockElon Musk’s new announcement has given TSLA stock a much needed jolt. As of this writing, shares are up just under a percent for the day, staying slightly elevated.Of course, it hasn’t been a good month for the electric vehicle(EV) sector so far. Industry leader Tesla is struggling. Meanwhile, Xpeng(NYSE:XPEV) posted a poor second-quarter outlook, also causing fellow Chinese EV producerNio(NYSE:NIO) to take a dive.While this latest prediction for Tesla is exciting, it has already garnered some warranted skepticism. Tesla doesn’t have a history of meeting its ambitious deadlines. What’s more, they have often centered around FSD tech, which Musk admitted last year is harder to produce than he had expected. Last July, Musk tweeted as much when a Tesla EV owner trolled him about a delayed rollout.Haha, FSD 9 beta is shipping soon, I swear!Generalized self-driving is a hard problem, as it requires solving a large part of real-world AI. Didn’t expect it to be so hard, but the difficulty is obvious in retrospect.Nothing has more degrees of freedom than reality.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk)July 3, 2021Despite all of the hard work on Tesla’s FSD promises, investors also have plenty of reason to be cautious. Last week, a Tesla crash in Newport Beach, California killed three people. Authorities are currently investigating if the driver had engaged the car’s autopilot feature.This isn’t the first time that Tesla’s autonomous tech has caused problems, either. In February, the company issued a recall due to problems with its rolling stop feature.Now, Musk is doubling down on promises of autonomous driving. While that is exciting to think about, it’s understandable why both consumers and experts are skeptical about it becoming a reality.The Road AheadFSD skepticism aside, there is something important to note when it comes to TSLA stock. Sure, the company has missed deadlines and experienced setbacks before, but that has never kept shares down for long. TSLA stock has an ability to overcome.Still, when an announcement this important comes at a ten-month low for shares, it’s hard not to wonder whether Musk is trying to generate excitement short-term. All told, this latest FSD announcement is absolutely worth the watch.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":760,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9929439134,"gmtCreate":1670718986728,"gmtModify":1676538421474,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ lfg","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9929439134","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":457,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9964840177,"gmtCreate":1670123030200,"gmtModify":1676538306676,"author":{"id":"4100316437044830","authorId":"4100316437044830","name":"Stevenwml","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6c709b93db815fb5a0c95b5f3ecd2c56","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4100316437044830","authorIdStr":"4100316437044830"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>lfg","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ lfg","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9964840177","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":322,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
