DeepSeek Reportedly Developing Its Own AI Chip for Inference Tasks
Deep News07-07
It has been reported that DeepSeek is developing its own artificial intelligence chip, aiming to reduce its reliance on chips from companies like Nvidia. According to sources familiar with the matter, DeepSeek's self-developed AI chip is primarily targeted at inference tasks, rather than the training of AI models.
"The company has engaged with external partners and held discussions with firms involved in chip design, foundry manufacturing, and memory chips," sources revealed. The development work on DeepSeek's proprietary chip is said to have commenced approximately one year ago.
When contacted for comment on the development of its own AI chip, DeepSeek had not responded by the time of publication.
