Alibaba Silent On Reports It May Sell Lingxi Interactive Entertainment

Multiple media, citing gaming industry insiders, report Alibaba plans to sell its gaming arm Lingxi Interactive Entertainment and has engaged five potential buyers: listed game firms 37 Interactive Entertainment, China Ruyi, Century Huatong and Giant Network, plus a buyout consortium of two private equity firms. The deal is said likely to be a package sale covering Lingxi’s five in‑house development studios and the 9Game and JiaoYimao platforms. Reported price range is RMB7–9 billion (about $1.0–1.3 billion).
Alibaba did not respond to requests for comment by June 24.
