据伊朗总统办公室13日发布的声明，伊朗总统佩泽希齐扬当天与法国总统马克龙通话时表示，伊朗愿继续在国际法框架内与美方进行谈判，并将遵守停火条款，此前美方的“过度野心”阻碍了协议达成。
佩泽希齐扬在通话中说，伊方认为，外交是解决争端的首选途径，“基于威胁、施压和军事行动的手段不仅无法解决问题，反而会使问题更加复杂，并加剧美方一手造成的问题”。
谈及日前在巴基斯坦举行的伊美谈判，佩泽希齐扬说，伊方代表团为达成持久协议表现出了认真与诚意，尽管双方在技术专家层面取得了一定共识，但美方高级官员的“过度野心”和缺乏政治意愿阻碍了协议的最终达成。
针对美方封锁霍尔木兹海峡的威胁，佩泽希齐扬说，任何对这一战略要道安全的威胁都将对全球贸易产生广泛影响，伊朗为维护国家利益，已做好充分准备应对任何不利局面。
