0737 GMT - Chinese AI firm DeepSeek appears to be making waves among tech investors, potentially raising competition concerns. Nasdaq futures were recently down by more than 2%, pressured by news that the Chinese startup can run its latest AI model on less advanced and cheaper chips, Swissquote Bank senior analyst Ipek Ozkardeskaya says in a note. This development is causing concerns about potential disruption to U.S. tech's global dominance, but it is likely too soon to predict that DeepSeek will challenge the global AI leaders, she says. This week's Big Tech earnings are expected to give stronger conviction for investors seeking fresh direction, she adds. (fabiana.negrinochoa@wsj.com)
