Russia said it "strongly condemns" Israel's strikes on Iran as a violation of international law, adding that they undermine diplomatic efforts around Iran's nuclear program.
"Due to Israeli attacks, efforts to resolve the situation regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear energy have been undermined and set back," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Moscow, which counts Tehran among its allies, called on all sides to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation "and the region's slide into a full-scale war."
