European Stocks Seen Opening Sharply Lower After Israel Strike on Iran -- Market Talk
Dow Jones06-13
0656 GMT - European stocks are expected to open lower after Israel launched a wide-ranging attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. "The geopolitical shock came atop an already strained market landscape marked by President Trump's erratic trade policies and faltering U.S.-Iran nuclear talks," IG analysts say in a note. Risky assets take a hit while oil prices jump. Germany's DAX index is expected to open around 1.6% lower, according to IG. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 index is seen down 0.5%, with losses likely limited by gains for heavyweight oil stocks. (jessica.fleetham@wsj.com)
