Investors will get a heavy rotation of Federal Reserve speakers in the coming week as officials weigh in on the economic outlook amid the war's energy disruptions. Tuesday's purchasing-managers' index-one of the first major surveys of business conditions since the U.S.-Iran war began-and Friday's consumer-sentiment figures will also be watched for signs of the war's impact on the economy.
Saturday, March 21
-- Fed speeches: Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell will give virtual award-acceptance remarks at the American Society for Public Administration's annual conference.
Monday, March 23
-- Events: The CERAWeek energy conference begins in Houston, running through Friday. Several members of the Trump administration are expected to speak, including Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and EPA administrator Lee Zeldin. The CEOs of companies including Chevron, Aramco and Ford are also on the docket.
-- Economic data: A delayed Census Bureau report on construction spending for January is due, along with quarterly data on retail, manufacturing, mining and wholesale trade.
Tuesday, March 24
-- Earnings: GameStop, Core & Main, Smithfield Foods
-- Economic data: Revised productivity figures for the fourth quarter, along with S&P Global's U.S. flash purchasing-managers' index for March.
-- Fed speeches: Fed governor Michael Barr will deliver a speech focused on the economic outlook and community development at 6:30 p.m. ET in Phoenix.
Wednesday, March 25
-- Earnings: Jefferies Financial, PDD Holdings, Cintas, Beyond Meat, Chewy
-- Economic data: The Bureau of Labor Statistics will release import and export price indexes for February. The Energy Information Administration releases its weekly report on petroleum.
-- Fed speeches: Fed governor Stephen Miran will participate in a discussion at a digital asset summit in New York City.
Thursday, March 26
-- Earnings: Commercial Metals Company, Pony AI
-- Economic data: Initial jobless claims. The EIA will release its weekly report on natural gas storage.
-- Fed speeches: Fed governor Lisa Cook is scheduled to deliver a speech on financial stability at 4 p.m. in New Haven, Conn. Later in the day, Miran, Barr and Vice Chair Philip Jefferson are set to speak.
-- Events: Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law, is scheduled to speak at the FII Priority Summit, a Saudi sovereign wealth fund-backed investment conference in Miami. The event runs Wednesday through Friday and features a range of global leaders and CEOs. Kushner's talk will examine how the U.S.-Gulf financial relationship holds up amid the war.
Friday, March 27

-- Economic data: The University of Michigan will release its final consumer-sentiment figures for March at 10 a.m.
