据英国金融时报，投资者正在寻找促使特朗普在伊朗战争问题上改变政策的“痛点”，因为美国总统的社交媒体帖子引发了石油市场的剧烈波动。
自特朗普发动中东战争以来，他往往会在周末石油市场休市期间加大对伊朗的威胁力度，并在油价上涨时暗示即将实现和平。这一模式凸显了石油市场在冲突进程中的核心地位，以及白宫在阻止原油价格失控方面取得的成功——至少到目前为止是这样。
“很明显，特朗普害怕油价高企……汽油价格超过4美元对政治来说是致命的，”Onyx资本集团的石油分析师豪尔赫·蒙特佩克说。“另一方面，他的自尊心也很重要。他不能让自己看起来输了。”
一位资深能源交易员指出，他们观察到一个明显的模式：每当美国石油价格接近每桶95至100美元时，政府的缓和言论就会增多，市场对政府可能干预石油市场的猜测也会越来越高。
