President Donald Trump on August 14 issued a full-throated endorsement of Republican Senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska, praising his record and accusing Democrats of attempting to confuse voters by fielding a candidate with the same name.
"Senator Dan Sullivan is doing a fantastic job representing the Great State of Alaska!" Trump wrote on X, noting that Sullivan previously served as State Attorney General and Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources. Trump claimed that he won Alaska "by BIG margins in 2016, 2020, and 2024" and that "no one has done more for Alaska than 'TRUMP,'" including securing 11 new Arctic Security Cutter Icebreakers, the first such ships in over 40 years.
Trump listed Sullivan's accomplishments: "He is fighting hard to Grow our Economy, Lower Taxes, Cut Regulations, Help Secure our VERY Secure (Record Setting!) Border, Champion our Incredible Military/Veterans, Advance American Energy DOMINANCE... and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment."
Trump alleged that Democrats fielded a different candidate also named "Dan Sullivan" to confuse voters. "Because of the trickery in the Voting, the Crooked, Radical Left Dumocrats have put up another man named 'Dan Sullivan,' and they did this to take Votes away from our Great Senator of the same name. Democrats are trying to 'trick' Alaskans, and treat Alaskan Voters with contempt."
Trump urged Alaskans voting on August 18 to ensure they vote for "SULLIVAN, DAN S. — REGISTERED REPUBLICAN/INCUMBENT," giving his "Complete and Total Endorsement" and stating, "HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!"
