President Donald Trump on August 12 endorsed Mike Mazzei for governor of Oklahoma, calling him a "MAGA Warrior" and offering his "COMPLETE and TOTAL Endorsement" in the state's runoff election. Trump also sharply criticized Mazzei's opponent, Gentner Drummond, labeling him a "FAKE Republican" and linking him to donations to President Joe Biden and the Lincoln Project.
Trump highlighted his own electoral success in Oklahoma, noting he was the "ONLY President to win ALL 77 Counties in three straight Elections" and that he "won more votes than any Candidate in the State's History." He praised Mazzei's support for a new aluminum plant in Inola, Oklahoma, which Trump described as "one of the best projects ever conceived or built" and a "financial windfall" for the state. Trump claimed Drummond opposed the plant and even sued to block it.
The president also attacked Drummond over his stance on Trump's impeachment, stating Drummond had "no opinion" on what Trump called a "BOGUS IMPEACHMENT." Trump further criticized Drummond for suing to block a religious-based charter school, calling it "an outright attack on Christianity." The runoff election is scheduled for August 25.
