President Donald Trump announced on August 18 that he has nominated Zach West to serve as a judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma, describing West as a "zealous advocate for the Constitution, Religious Liberty, and the Rule of Law."

West currently serves as Solicitor General of Oklahoma and Director of Special Litigation in the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office. He previously clerked for Judge J. Leon Holmes of the Eastern District of Arkansas and Judge Bobby Baldock of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. West is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma College of Law.

In his announcement, Trump said, "A real fighter for the Great People of Oklahoma, Zach will never let you down." The nomination requires confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
