President Donald Trump announced on August 17 that former hostage Kevin Rideout is preparing to return to the United States after being reunited with his wife, Krista. The president stated that this marks the 110th American captive liberated since he was sworn in for a second term.
"I am happy to reveal that former hostage Kevin Rideout is getting ready to fly home to the United States after having been reunited with his beautiful wife, Krista. This return marks the 110th captive American liberated since I was sworn in as President for a second time," Trump wrote on X.
The president said he looks forward to welcoming Kevin and Krista at the White House soon. The Rideouts' reunion and homecoming come as the Trump administration continues its efforts to secure the release of Americans held abroad.
