President Donald Trump announced on August 18 the nomination of Peter Mansfield to serve as a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Mansfield has the strong support of Senators John Kennedy and Bill Cassidy.
Mansfield has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in New Orleans for more than 20 years, currently as Chief of the Civil Division and previously as First Assistant. He earned his law degree from Ave Maria School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville.
"I am pleased to nominate Peter Mansfield, who has the strong support of Senator John Kennedy and Senator Bill Cassidy, to serve as Judge on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana," Trump said in a statement. "The people of Louisiana are lucky to have a dedicated Public Servant like Peter join the Federal Bench. Congratulations Peter!"
