Rocket Lab (RKLB) has won two delivery orders valued at $12 million to demonstrate interoperability of optical communications in space, supporting the US Space Force's Space Data Network Backbone program, the company said late Tuesday.
The company said it is slated to deliver an operational demonstration for the program next year.
The Space Data Network Backbone project aims to develop a satellite communications network for military operations, the company said.
