On October 26, President Donald Trump used X to endorse Michele Tafoya to be the next U.S. senator from Minnesota and warned against what he called ballot “cheating.”
Trump praised Tafoya as “running a great race” and urged supporters not to allow changes to votes after the contest concludes, writing, “Don't allow them to play with the Votes after the race is over.” He added, “The Federal Government will be watching closely,” and asserted, “The only way she can lose is if they cheat by playing games with the Ballots as they come in.”
Trump also claimed he “won Minnesota three times, but they didn't give me the Victories,” and said Minnesota has not been “won” since 1972, when, in his words, “Richard Nixon claimed the trophy.” He concluded with a full endorsement: “Michele Tafoya has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Senator from the Great State of Minnesota — She will not let you down!” The message was signed “President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
