On October 28, President Donald Trump alleged on X that Alaska Democrats recruited a candidate with the same name as Republican Senator Dan Sullivan to confuse voters.
In his post, Trump cited The New York Times and included this passage: “Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska’s Senate ballot. But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run — as well as other candidates.”
Trump further claimed that Democrats made “false statements” under oath in federal court, saying they committed perjury and should face “very serious consequences.” He demanded legal and political penalties for Mary Peltola and urged that Senator Dan Sullivan be allowed to run without Mary Peltola or the “fake Dan Sullivan” on Alaska’s ballot.
